David Montecalvo is a Senior Operating Partner at Vance Street, working with portfolio company leadership teams to help them achieve strategic and financial objectives. David brings more than 35 years of medical and life science experience to Vance Street with specific expertise in business development, global operations, R&D, quality assurance, regulatory and clinical affairs.
Before joining Vance Street, David served as Board Advisor, CEO and COO interim roles of multiple private equity-backed MedTech and life science companies. Prior to working in Private Equity, David led West Pharmaceutical Services through significant growth developing and executing global operations and supply chain resilience strategies as COO and Advisor to CEO. David spent nearly 15 years at Medtronic in multiple leadership roles including VP of Contract Manufacturing of the Medtronic’s RTG group of businesses, VP Business Integration Operations, where he led the operations integration of Covidien into Medtronic, and VP of Global Operations and Product Development of the Cardiovascular Structural Heart business. David was also an officer of Urologix and LecTec Corporation, both public MedTech companies earlier in his career.
He earned his Biomedical Engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio and his MBA from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. He is an Advisory Board member to the Boeing Center for Supply Chain Innovation at the Olin Business School of Washington University.
