Award is given to the top New Brunswick exporter in recognition for its support of the community and helping the province’s economy grow
Saint John, New Brunswick – June 13, 2019 – Measurand, Inc. (“Measurand”), the manufacturer and designer of ShapeArray, won Exporter of the Year for businesses with export sales in excess of $5 million. The Export Awards highlights businesses that help grow the New Brunswick economy by contributing to the province’s exports. Jeff Barrett, Measurand’s president accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“Three years ago, I decided I wasn’t having enough fun at work, so I took the chance to join this small company in Hanwell called Measurand,” Barrett said during his acceptance. “I don’t think I could have found a better group of men and women to share my work days with. Whether I’m at the airport with our sales and marketing team at midnight waiting for a flight back to Fredericton or on a Sunday eating lunch with our manufacturing team trying to get a rush order out, everybody is always smiling. I think half the time they are smiling because they are laughing at me, but hey I’ll take it.”
An expert panel of business leaders and academics select the awards from a pool of nominees located in the province of New Brunswick. The event is hosted by Opportunities New Brunswick (“ONB”) in partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (“ACOA”).
Measurand is a sister company of R.S.T. Instruments (“RST”), another leading geotechnical instrumentation provider based in Maple Ridge, Canada. Collectively, their integrated product portfolio provides cutting edge solutions to their global base of customers. Both companies are owned by Vance Street Capital LLC, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, which acquired RST in 2017 and Measurand in 2019.
